Two words: white spinnerbait. The ones at walmart that are $1 work fine. If the water you are fishing is pretty clear you may want to go with a more natural looking color than white (something to imitate whatever the bass you are chasing mainly eat), but white will probably still work. There are obviously hundreds of lures out there with thousands of color combinations that will all catch fish in the right circumstance, but for the beginner I would say use a white spinnerbait, cast it out, and reel it in with some quick twitches and you'll get a fish.
So now how do I catch the good old bass?? You have some nice ones there!
